Hudsyn McCosker – Assistant Tennis Coach at Cagney Tennis Academy
Hudsyn McCosker began his tennis journey in 2017 at the age of nine, training right here at Cagney Tennis Academy. Showing strong dedication and skill, he quickly advanced through the orange, green, and yellow ball programs, developing into a competitive junior player. Today, Hudsyn competes alongside some of the best juniors in the Hunter Region, regularly taking part in tennis tournaments and RMS-level events across Newcastle, Valentine, Eleebana, and surrounding areas.
In 2023, Hudsyn took the next step in his tennis pathway, beginning his coaching career under the mentorship of Head Professional and Academy Owner Derek Cagney. Since then, he has been training diligently, assisting in classes with younger players, leading sessions in the Tennis Australia Hot Shots programs (Red, Orange, and Green ball), and contributing to the academy’s popular school holiday clinics.
Hudsyn has also successfully completed the Tennis Australia Community Coaching Course, achieving excellent results. His calm, friendly approach and natural connection with young players help him bring out their best both on and off the court.
Wise beyond his years, Hudsyn continues to grow as a tennis coach and player. With his strong work ethic, passion for the sport, and eagerness to learn, he’s a valued part of the Cagney Tennis Academy team — inspiring the next generation of players across Fletcher, Lakelands, Valentine, Eleebana, Newcastle, and the Central Coast.
