Dominique has been passionate about tennis since she could first hold a racquet, starting her journey at just 3 years of age in Bathurst, NSW.
She began competing in tournaments in the Under 10’s age group, at regional level in the prestigious Central West Junior Development Series (JDS – now known as Regional Matchplay Series – RMS), when she was just 7yr of age and continued to play consistently through to adult level. She played Australian Junior Rankings tournaments right across NSW, Qld & Victoria, maintaining a Top 50 Australian National Junior Ranking in her age group, and a Top 400 Australian National Adult Ranking. She represented the Central West Region in the Tennis NSW 10&U, 12&U, 14&U, 16&U State Teams events every year from the age of 10-16 years, placing among the top 48 juniors in NSW.
Her coaching career began at just 13 years of age, working with her family’s business at the Bathurst Tennis Centre under her father / Professional Coach / Tennis NSW Board Member Andrew Mitton. She initially helped run holiday clinics before progressing to coaching Hot Shots programs, including orange ball and green ball groups. As her experience grew, she moved into coaching high-performance squads and developing competitive players.
Dominique particularly enjoys coaching private lessons, where she can focus closely on technique and help players adjust / develop / refine the more intricate details in their games, as well as delving into the mental side of the game, for which she was known to be so strong as a player.
With a lifelong love of tennis and years of coaching experience across all levels of the game, Dominique is passionate about helping players build confidence, improve their skills, and enjoy their time on court & the sport of tennis in general.
