Cagney Tennis Academy has been coaching players across Newcastle and Lake Macquarie for more than 35 years. We offer tennis lessons, junior squads, adult classes, school holiday clinics, competitions and casual court hire for all ages and skill levels.

The coaching at West Wallsend Tennis Courts is fantastic. It’s run by Cagney Tennis Academy, who have recently added this centre to their coaching locations and couldn’t rate it any higher. Coach Liam is incredibly fun, patient, and understanding, making every session enjoyable and stress-free. He always tailors sessions to suit the kids he’s coaching. I’ve had my kids in lessons for a while and even decided to give it a go myself. The facilities are excellent and well maintained, creating a great environment to learn and improve. Owner Louise rang me to respond to an email enquiry I had sent regarding lessons for our kids, and I was immediately sold after this conversation. We could tell from the very first lesson that Paris was an amazing coach – she always provides constructive feedback and focuses on technique. She is friendly and just a lovely person all round! Frequently Asked Questions

How do I enrol in coaching?

You can join by contacting us via phone or online, selecting your preferred venue and coaching type (private, junior squad, adult class, etc.), then we’ll guide you through scheduling and payment.

We cater from preschool age children all the way through to teens. Classes are run using the Tennis Australia Hotshots Red, Orange & Green Ball program, as well as yellow ball classes and squads. All levels from beginner, intermediate, advanced through to elite are catered for.

Yes. We have venues like Fletcher Tennis Centre (and others) purely for court hire services. You do not need to be involved in coaching to book courts.

Weather updates are posted on our site and social media. If courts are unsafe or conditions unsuitable, classes may be cancelled or relocated. We’ll communicate any changes as soon as possible.

Consider your location, court surfaces, and what kind of coaching or playing experience you’re after. Our coaches will also help recommend which venue and program align with your skill level and goals.
